The Story Behind the Model
The public got their first glimpse of the 2010 Ford Shelby GT500 through a special New Year's Day, 2009 press release. The 2010 Ford Shelby GT500 has an aggressive new exterior design with functional features, such as the power dome hood extractor to remove heat from the engine, the Gurney Flap spoiler for rear down force, and a new aerodynamic front splitter. To complete this high-performance Shelby GT500 there is a supercharged and intercooled 5.4 liter dual overhead cam V-8 engine that produces 540 horsepower. Features include authentic factory graphics and racing stripes and seats with embroidered cobras. Designer/race car driver Carroll Shelby created some of the most desired auto designs, making the GT500 a true collector's item.

Your Ford Shelby GT500 is a Level 3 kit - it is perfect for intermediate and advanced model builders. Parental supervision is suggested. Always study the assembly drawings included in the packaging before beginning. Each part is identified by a part number.Trimming to remove extra plastic and filing to smooth before part assembly is suggested. For better paint and decal adhesion, wash the plastic parts in a mild detergent solution. Rinse and let air dry. Check the fit of each piece before cementing in place. Allow paint to dry thoroughly before handling parts.
