Mario and Bowser face off on the racetrack in the K'NEX Ice Race Building Set. Based on the Mario Kart video game, this racing set features two battery-powered race cars that zoom around the ice-themed track. Recommended for children ages six and up, this exciting set includes recognizable Mario characters and objects like a Shy Guy snowboarder, penguin, and a golden star.

Constructed with 182 genuine K'NEX pieces and sturdy plastic tracking , the Mario and Bowser Ice Race Building Set is fun and simple to put together. Mario and Bowser figurines sit inside their own race cars, which are decked out with colorful stickers and real rubber wheels. Four AAA batteries (not included) provide the power for these racers, propelling them around the ice-themed track and over a built-in jump!

But be careful: two devious obstacles can get in the way of victory. A Shy Guy snowboarder can swing across the track at your command, or you can launch a penguin from the moveable K'NEX ramp.

Hands-on Construction with K'NEX Pieces

Built with genuine K'NEX, the Ice Race building set is as fun to construct as it is to play with. The plastic track components easily snap together to create the racetrack, and children can use their creativity to build and expand Mario's world with the K'NEX pieces. Two included sticker sheets let you decorate the track with colorful Mario- and racing-themed art.

Expand the Fun with Additional Sets

The Mario and Bowser Ice Race set is compatible with many other K'NEX Nintendo Building Sets (sold separately), so you can expand and customize your track with additional sets. Various other Nintendo characters are available for the full experience, including Toad, Diddy Kong, Luigi, and Yoshi.

Race Your Friends

Our testers found the set simple to build following the included instructions, though the Penguin launcher was slightly more challenging than the rest of the set. Decorating the components with stickers offers some creative opportunities, and the battery powered race cars travel around the track with ease. The K'NEX components can be expanded with other sets to extend the life of this kit, and offers kids the freedom to create larger structures.
